Training
Professional Standards Start With Proper Training
Why Training Is Essential
Security professionals are trusted with responsibility, authority, and public safety. Proper training ensures that individuals understand their legal powers, their limitations, and how to act professionally in real-world situations.
At Guardian Protection Unit, we believe training is the foundation of professionalism. It protects the public, the client, and the officer. It sets the standard for how security should operate

Training Is a Legal Requirement
In the UK, anyone working in a licensable security role must hold a valid SIA licence. To obtain this licence, individuals are legally required to complete approved training relevant to their role.
This training covers areas such as conflict management, legal powers, emergency procedures, and professional conduct. Working without the correct training and licence is unlawful and places individuals, employers, and clients at risk.
Guardian Protection Unit operates in full compliance with SIA regulations and expects all Guardians to meet these legal requirements
Training Pathway
At Guardian Protection Unit, we refer applicants to ACPASS, a recognised training provider whose approach aligns with the standards we expect from our Guardians.

Training through ACPASS helps ensure candidates are prepared not only to meet legal requirements, but to operate professionally in real-world security environments.
Training is the first step toward professionalism in security. If you’re serious about building a career built on standards, responsibility, and care, proper training matters.
Once you’ve completed the required training and hold the appropriate SIA licence, we welcome applications from those ready to uphold the Guardian Standard.
