How to Apply for your SIA Licence:

A simple step by step guide to get your SIA licence and Start your Security Career

Book and Start Your Training
Choose the training course that's right for you and book your place with Guardian.

Complete & Pass Your Course
Successfully Complete your chosen training course and pass the required assessments to gain your recognised qualification.

Apply for Your SIA Licence
Once you have Passed your course and gained your qualification, simply go online and submit your application through the official SIA website and pay the SIA Licence fee (Currently £204)

Identity & Background Checks
The SIA will verify your identity and carry our the necessary checks, including DBS and right-to-work checks where applicable. You may also need to verify your identity at a participating Post Office.

Application Processing
Once your checks are complete, the SIA will review your application. Most applications are processed within approximately 25 working days

Receive Your SIA Licence
Once approved, your SIA licence will be issued, allowing you to begin working in the roles covered by your licence. (Licences are Valid for 3 years)

Once you have successfully completed your training and received your qualification, you'll be ready to apply for your SIA licence. the application is completed online through the Security Industry Authority. What's the difference between Door Supervisor and Security Guard
A Door Supervisor licence gives you access to a wider range of security roles, including licensed premises, while a security guard licence is limited to guarding roles. Because of this, many employers and clients prefer Door Supervisor Licence holders, making it the most popular route into the security industry.
